Eye Exams
Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining your eyes' health by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options.
Contact Lens Services
Over 30 million Americans wear contact lenses, according to the American Optometric Association. Unlike glasses, contact lenses move with your eyes so you can enjoy a larger field of vision with fewer distortions. You also don't have to deal with frames hovering in your peripheral vision or external lenses that fog up on cold days or get wet in the rain.
There are many different kinds of contacts, including rigid and flexible, extended wear, disposable and planned replacement lenses. Some can be made as bifocals or in different colors. After a thorough eye exam and consultation with an experienced physician, patients who qualify for contact lenses can discuss which type is right for them. All contact lenses require special care and cleaning. You'll need to make regular follow-up visits to ensure your eyes remain healthy.
Optical Shop
For your convenience, Eye Specialists has a full service optical shop located right in
the waiting room. We offer a wide variety of name-brand frames and sunglasses. Our
knowledgeable staff will measure you for a precise fit and can offer advice about
options such as anti-reflective coatings, lens materials, and bifocals. Stop by after
your exam and take care of all of your visual needs in one day and in one location.
Eyelid Surgery
In addition to ocular surgery, Dr. Stuckey also performs a variety of procedures on
the eyelids. These include:
- Blepharoplasty - removal of excess upper eyelid skin and fat to improve vision and appearance.
- Repair of lid rotation - various forces can cause the eyelids to rotate inward, rotate outward, or sag excessively. This can result in eye irritation, drying, excessive tearing, and abnormal appearance. A variety of procedures can be performed to return the lids to their natural position.
- Removal of lid lesions - Cysts, growths, infections, and skin tags can occur on both
the upper and lower eyelids. These can usually be removed in the office under local
anesthesia.
Although these problems often affect the appearance, the vast majority of them are
covered by insurance so be sure to mention these issues to your doctor.
